Things to do on Quadra Island
Well this is Quadra Island... what else to do other than KAYAK, with
who else other than QUADRA ISLAND KAYAKS !?!
Located in beautiful Heriot Bay, 200 meters south of the Heriot Bay
Store at the Yak Shak you will find Tracy, or Jane, ( or
maybe JD just back from a mtn bike ride) serving up the tours, good
times and just generally doing everything with kayaking on our minds.
Check out the tours on this website and come on over for a visit.
Other things to do....
1. Go for a walk on Rebecca Spit Provincial Park to see amazing scenery
and impressive driftwood sculptures. A great spot to beach comb and
bring a picnic basket. Watch the sunset light up the coastal mountains,
take a swim in Drew Harbour (some of the warmest ocean water on Quadra),
toss a frisbee, fly a kite, grab an ice-cream on the way down at Island
Grill. Gosh, we could go on and on... thats why its number
one on this list. You just have to talk a walk the spit!!!
2. Drive up to Village Bay lakes and go for a warm freshwater lake
swim...
3. The word on the street is that the museum is supposed to be open
this summer (2007)!!! This is a first nations culutral museum located
down at the Cape Mudge Village. It has been under renovations for quite
some time. Sure to be exciting for the whole family.
4. Catch some live music at the Heriot Bay Inn. Sunday night jazz on
the patio goes great with some local wine and a sunset lighting up the
harbour.
5. Take in some of the enormous artistic talent on the island... potters,
glassblowers, painters, sculptors, florists, blacksmiths, carpenters....
Call ahead for studio tours!!!
6. Go mtn bike riding around Morte Lake, or for something a little
more mellow try out the Community Center trails. Good times for the
whole family!!
7. Take your pick on any one of the amazing hikes on the Quadra Island
Hiking trails network (Trail Guides are $2 at most stores).
8. Call Jack at Quadra Island Tours and book a tour on the famous "Tenzing".
You can explore around beautiful nooks and crannies, explore marine
life from below with a deep water diver, pull prawn traps and cook them
up right on board to feast with wine and cheeses.
A true experience not to be missed.
9. Go see Barb at amped on nutrition....a hot spot packed with lots
of healthy goodness and food sure to make you feel like a million bucks.
While your there pick up some snacks for hiking up Chinese Mountain.
10. Go see Terry at Terrys Takeout... the cutiest
little snackshak in town. She scoops a mean cone, and cooks a fine burger
and fries. Conveniently located next to the public library in Heriot
Bay. "You bet-cha"!!
